Free time among students is valued as nearly priceless. Class time may range from eight in the morning until after three in the afternoon, so the evenings are treasured for catching up on the day ' s happenings across campus. Among the activities students enjoy include in- tramural sports, pool shooting at the Student Center or one of the area pool halls, relaxing in front of the tube, athletics, catching up on the next day ' s lesson, or spending time with that special one. Practice Makes Perfect The desire to excel is vital in the preparation for perfection. Although total perfection is not possible, practice is essential for striving toward that ultimate goal. At IJC, perfection is a goal of each student whether academically or in athletics and extends much further than that actually. Competition between students brings out the best in individuals therefore urging them toward the top. Practice may not make perfect, but if we practice long enough or hard enough, fame, power, life, and fortune have all named themselves a star, and will enable you to, too. Melissa Freeman puts much concentration into the preparation of a painting in art class. As a member of the All American Band, Wendy Andrews focuses on her music while trying to get her fingers synchronized. A member of Kaleidoscope, Douglas Williams caresses the ivories at the piano. Just a gigolo . . . Mary Ellen Bishop prepares as a member of the flag corps. 8 Opening
