The speak- ers included Joe Spear, a reporter on the staff of the inter- nationally syndicated columnist Jack Anderson; Tom Duro, one of the greatest national speakers on the American scene; and Rupert Chapman from the Ole Miss Archaeol- ogy Department. Dennis Yost and the Classics IV were in concert on November 30 in the IJC Gym. The Group from Ole Miss entertained in the student center on February 13. Altogether, these visitors gave our students a wide range of entertainment and enlightenment. She is a President ' s List scholar and is now serving as president of Phi Theta Kappa. Patty is active in the Baptist Student Union and serves as organist for her church. She is an officer of the MENC and a member of chorus. She is majoring in music. ff |i- 4| Jerry Senter is best known for his speaking ability. He has held major roles in productions presented by the Speech Department. He represented IJC well at civic and Governmental affairs. Jerry is an officer of Phi Theta Kappa. He is a President ' s List scholar majoring in law. 29 Steve Shotts is a very versatile student. In addition to being an outstanding member of the football team, he is a Dean ' s List scholar. Being very active in student activities, Steve was selected as Mr. IJC. He will con- tinue his education in the field of engineering. Linda Sneed is a conscientious student and a Dean ' s List scholar. She is a home economics major specializ- ing in child development. She is currently serving as president of the Home Economics Club. Linda is a flag girl for the IJC Band. J. C. beauty revue. From a field of thirty lovely girls, excitement mounted as Sherry Senter was crowned Most Beautiful by President W. 0. Benjamin. Runners-up were Mitzi Scott — 1st alternate, Kathy Williams — 2nd alternate, Jane Cox — 3rd alternate, and Pam Davis — 4th alternate. Wayne Baggett and Carolyn Long of Mississippi State University, and Darrell Greg- ory of L J. C. provided entertainment. Alumni, students, and supporters made a great contribution to make it the best homecoming ever. Yes, Homecoming 1973 was a day to be remembered. A Day FiUed With Tradition 64 Homecoming Breaks the Routine of Classes a victory. a cheering crowd. a parade. the alumni. the alma mater. a kiss. a dance. a corsage. a weekend never to be FORGOTTEN. 65 After all the excitement of the day, there still remained the most important event of Home- coming. To climax the day, the IJC Indians brought a victory to us over the East Central Warriors.
