imtti Fall Activities r t «sfte» The first Fall issue of the Chi ej tain comes off press. The Hoola Hoop craze hit IJC Campus early in Septem- ber — proof, Martha Ruth Malone, Linda Beddingfield, Joyce Middlebrooks. The first Fall election on the IJC campus was held by the Student Council to select a Homecoming Queen and her attendants. The three candidates for Queen — Sue Farmer, Faye Daniel, and Jewel Williams — are standing in the foreground as Carolyn Whitworth casts her vote. In the background are Paul Mitchell, Richard Por- ter, Martha Grey, Kenny Earl Gray. Holding the election are, sitting: Cecil Nabors, and standing: Joe Maxcy. J. W. Walker is providing the voters with pencils. RELIGIOUS EMPHASIS WEEK was held at lAHS- IJC November 10-14. The speaker was The Reverend EIHs Finger, president of Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi. The lAHS-IJC choir pro- vided music at the morning service, under the direction of Band Director, Cecil Trantham.
