To be a locomotive engineer was the childhood ambition of one of our math teachers, Mr. Anderson. He attended Wil- lamette University and graduated from Washington State University. To be a grown-up was the childhood ambition of Mr. Coyle our Biology and Physics teacher. The head track coach, Mr. Coyle attended Mehlenberg College, Uni- versity of Washington and University of North Dakota. He is often heard saying, As a matter of fact . . . 'I Mrs. Bottoms, the Biology and girls' P.E. teacher, attended the University of Ne- braska, Central Washington College of Education and the University of Washing- ton with the hope of becoming a chemist. She enjoys going to her mountain cabin during school vacations. A graduate of Briar Clift and the Univer- sity of Colorado, Miss Crelly teaches Span- ish and directs the Senior play. She is an advisor to Thespians. 10 Miss Breshears is a graduate of the Uni- versity of Washington. She teaches Home Economics and is the advisor of Future Nurses Club. Coaches White, Soland, and Nowaclnick survey the situation from the sidelines. Q l i I 5 A favorite saying of Mr. Durand, our head baseball coach is You win same, lose some and some get rained out. A native of Coffeyville, Kansas, he teaches history. One of his childhood ambitions was to be- come a professional baseball player.

T V ?,,.,......,.. an - School Board members Harold Stonebridge, John Kramer, Ben Thomas, Frank Cushman, and Joe Heft take a break from the financial problems of our district. Assistant Principal George Nowadnick checks the attendance records for the day. The burden of keeping the students in line falls on the broad shoulders of our genial football coach. Mrs. Gladys LaLanne, Secretary to the Principal, is responsible for the thousand and one items that crop up in a busy school day. Her relaxed manner attests to the efficiency with which she handles her jab. The school custodians, Martin Hanson, Floyd Erickson, and Wayne Worrell team up to replace a broken window in our ----............ R 4 HES' gym.

A graduate of Washington State Univer- sity, Mr. Frohs teaches agriculture and is the advisor to the local chapter ot F.F.A. His childhood ambition was to be success- ful. Mr. Galloway, whose childhood ambition was to travel, is a graduate of the Univer- sity ot' Washington. A math teacher, Mr. Galloway likes to fish and hike. A favorite saying of Mr. Keppler's is I wonder why? A graduate of Washington State University, he teaches shop, psy- chology, and sociology. Having a good time at the Big-Little Sister party are Miss Still, Mrs. Vow- tes, Miss Crelly and Mrs. Pierini. Mr. Piele and Mr. White are about to enioy a meal prepared by one of the Home Ec. Classes. Mr. Klein, our fine music teacher, attended the University of Washington. He enioys fishing and has the dual roll of teaching Junior and Senior High students. Mr. McNabb, the king of the cottage, re- ceived his degree at Gonzaga University. He enjoys bowling, and he teaches Latin and French. Mr. McNabb is the advisor for the annual. 11 Ss, 54 ,Mast f- Mrs. Melcher fultilled her ambition by be- coming our chemistry teacher. She is one of the Junior class advisors, and she en- ioys skiing and traveling.
