The Indians won six of their nine games. Coaches Chuck Fallstrom and Dan Coyle did a fine job of forming the fast although light Issaquah Team. The team consisted of the following boys. Ends: Floyd Hefferline, Harris Lawerance, Ron Pettitt, and D o n Christiansen. Hefferline is a junior while the other three boys are sopho- mores. The tackles were Ron Furrer, Herb Scheda, Ron Skinner, juniors, and Hans Forster a senior. The guards were composed of Don Hayes and Gary Bosley, seniors, and Chuck Kin- flaalball nune, a junior, and Jerry Peltola, a sophomore. The centers were Roger Hansen, a senior, and Jack Kramer, a junior. The backfield had quarterback Les- ter Phillips, a junior who is remem- bered for his long passing and ball handling. The halfbacks were seniors Chuck Follett, Doug O'Bert, Willie Anderson, and juniors Don Montriel and Bob Sindt. The fullbacks were Marion Gee, Bob Lakey, and Roger Kinnune. Marion and Bob are seniors, and Roger is a sophomore. The team was managed by Jim Buckingham and Jack Hanson who did a fine job. This, along with the sportsmanlike conduct dur- ing the games, was taught by Coach Frank Ecker and his assistant, Lee Bowden. After the season was under way the team elected its captain for the year. Hans Forster was chosen and proved himself very capable by keeping the team together. Being captain was an additional job for Hans as he was the Indians' center. Rounding out the rest of the team were: seniors-Jerry Price, Roy Set- tem, Doug O'Bert, Billy Andersong juniors-Floyd Hefferline, L e s t e r Phillips, Nick Keldermang and sopho- more-Alonzo Kinney. Playing forward, opposite Price, was Doug O'ert. Doug was also good on defense and with his speed scored many lay-ins on fast breaks. Floyd Hefferline was an energetic player always looking for an oppor- tune play. Floyd usually played for- ward. Lester Phillips, alternating be- tween forward and guard, was a good rebound player and gained his share of points. Alonzo Kinney came up from the second team to strengthen the Indian reserves. Bob Lakey, who got off to a late start because of a broken arm, was clever at working the ball into the post. Nick Kelderman, who also play- ed center, had an accurate hook shot and was a good rebound player. Roy Settem and Willie Anderson usually played the guards although Settem often played center. Willie was clever in dribbling, getting the ball into the post. and screening. Roy was good in ball-handling and had a large assort- ment of different shots. Those playing on the second team were Nick Kelderman, Floyd Heffer- line, Alonzo Kinney, Ken Morgan, Bob Sindt, Ron Pettet, Norman Gill, Ron Furrer, Harris Lawrence, Myron Bray, and Don Christianson. The Senior Play of the Class of '51 was a rollicking mystery and comedy entitled, Great Caesar's Ghost. It was great fun putting it on since it included a unique star Caesar Caesar was an invisible ghost who had a weakness for chocolate cake Phineas Farthlng fMHf10H Geel was Caesars best friend Two more char acters and we do mean characters were seance crazy Phoebe De Royster tV1v1an Jacobsonl and Penelope Max well Uune Fernj The ghost became very realistic to them when it was used to discourage their interest in the Mahjah CBob Lakeyj The formal but comical butler fBuz Parkerl and coquetish maid fMae Brolioj carry on their household du- ties, but that isn't the only way they carry on! Efficient Aunt Polly lLora Lea Bergj solves everyones problem when she transforms Deborah De Royster lDor een Burssl from a xery shy girl to a chic charming sophisticated one The romantic leads were portrayed by Joan Hillery and Don Hayes The comic parts of the hungry boy lJ1m Podkranlcl and the angry cook lPat Retanj completed the list of charact ers The play was produced under the pat1ent and verv capable dlrection of Miss Crelly whom we thank for the success of our play Siege eaew This year s stage crew composed of Bill Holmes Edwin Hilden and J1m Merritt did a fine Job in preparing th stage for our school plays con certs and assemblies They also had charge of the Juke box for our school mmap to work organizing the annual Junior Plav The play chosen was a three act comedy Brother Goose Under the splendid direction of Miss Nergaard the play was given success fullv on May 2 3 and 4 The comedy dealt malnly with Brother Goose fRon Skmnerl and his family Hy lDarlene Erlcksonj the football player and trouble maker of the family Wes tFloyd Hefferlmej a girl crazy teenager and Carol 1La Donna Hansenj a pert little Junior miss made up this family The three were constantly running a 3r1nged circus about Brother Goose dances Due to the short hours of school the stage crew had to do most of their work outside of school hours and are certainly to be commended for their fine Job came to the breaking point Peggy Winkle fMarlene Gullifordl a hosierv sales lady came and helped him out of his difficulties The other members of the cast who aided in making the play entertain ing were Delphine Mamcke Kathy Zwickle Lynora Lyne Chuck Kin nune Beverly Wright and Ann Pad en Special attention goes to Mrs Hel lene and the make up committee the prompters Pat Rehbein and Joan Havs and the program advertising commit tees for their excellent help F I 7 .
