SUEEESS IN SPEHKINE The 1986 Forensics team ranged in a variety of talents from dramatic duos to radio broadcasting. Our team, of 13 members, started competition at the District tourna- ment, held at WHS. Iamuna Swamy, Jill Heikkila, and myself placed and went on to the Regional tournament, held at MSHS. After 8 hours of competition the winners were announced, I qualified for State competition, to be held at U of M in Ann Arbor. Although, I didn't place, I had a great time. This was Miss D's last year as coach and I'm sure I can speak for all of us when I say Thanks for all your help, encouragement, and support. The death was a swift, sudden blow, Its news brought a sobering effect, a low. The darkening skies and the howling wind, Told that they too had lost a friend. She was happy, living life at its best, Now she's been taken away to rest. When we heard we grieved and were filled with sorrow, Because for Lori there will be no tomorrow. I 62: When Miss DeCaire chose me to be Editor of Hematite 1987, I was honored. I didn't even think of the h work, patience, and thought that went into such a responsibility. I would like to thank the section editors and their staff. I'd like to thank the whole journalism class for putting with me on deadline days. I would like to thank Dan of Lemon's Studio and Kim Marsh for their excellent pictu A special recognition to Peggy Nelson, who put so much time, effort, patience, and has been such a great friend this endeavor. The very special person I would like to thank is Miss DeCaire for giving me a chance. This meant that trusted me enough to put together a 168 page yearbook. Thank you so much for a chance to prove myself. This yearbook would not have been possible if the fine people of Ishpeming hadn't voted for the school milla Thanks for giving the students of Ishpeming an opportunity. Good luck to Cris Niemela, who will combine skill and her own personal style to make next year's book a gr one. Thanks again.
