'FEI VHRSITY 23 This year our Freshmen football team shot off with a fly- ing start by beating Gwinn, only to be brought back down to earth when we met Marquette, who won by a large margin. As for the rest of our season, we only won two games, both against Gwinn, so our final record was: 2 wins, 4 losses. Even though our season was not as successful as we would have liked, we learned how to win and lose gracefully. Our team was lucky to have onlylone major injury which happened to David Morton, who sustained a neck injury in practice. He was out for the rest of the season. Our Chorus showed everyone by performing a medley from Cats, The entire chorus of thirty members dressed up like cats. Some of the costumes were very convincing. Again, the IHS Chorus was at its ull potential at the Christmas concert, with the Grand Finale consisting of all the choruses and the IHS Band nerforming together on A Christmas Portrait. At the Solo and Ensemble Competition, two out of our nine oloists received a one rating, the equivalent of an A. The other seven received two's, or B's. Our next event vas to perform at the Choral Festival in Escanaba, where our chorus was judged on two required classical ongs and sight reading. Our final performance was the spring concert. All of the choruses performed, and Ihere were some small group and solo performances as well. We would like to thank Miss T for her dedication to the Chorus, and Mrs. Bur for being our accompanist, Jliss D for supervising the buses, and Mrs. Regis for letting the Chrous use the stage, and a final thanks to ll the Chorus members for performing so well all year long. I Tammara Ball The IHS Band had a great year. We played at all the home football and basketball games, and marched in ne Homecoming Parade. Shelly Schultz played the National Anthem on her trumpet before home varsity asketball games. We attended Band Day at Northern Michigan University in the fall and in March we at- ended the Band Festival held in Marquette. We had a Christmas concert, A Spring concert, and a concert to ractice our festival. There are thirty-three members in the band this year, nearly double the number of students as last year. We Ee losing one senior, Beth jackson, but hope to gain new members from the junior high. We would like to ank our director, Mrs. Regis, for all her help. We have been meeting during our lunch hours and deciding on dif- ferent activities to let the students know the dangers of drinking and driving. X Early in the year we elected officers as follows: Jodi Betts, President, John Croze, Vice-President, Missy joseph, Treasurer, Linda Bertucci, Secretary. Mr. Croze is our advisor. S.A.D.D. members handed out buttons and posted signs before Christmas vacation to remind students not to drink and drive over vacation. We are looking forward to an active year and hope to accomplish our goal of educating students of the consequences of driving drunk. Bob Hodges Iohn Croze Nelson, C. Darden, P.
