Ishpeming 13, Iron Mountain 12 The lron Mountain Mountaineers came to lshpemihg hoping to avenge last year's set- back and they almost succeeded, thanks to the fumbling of the Hematites. Wills scored both touchdowns, one on a 70-yard return of an in- tercepted pass and the other on a fourth down pass from lim Westwater which covered l8 yards. He also converted the extra point which proved to be the margin of victory. Ishpeming 6 Soo 12 Tr l-lematites traveled to the Soo to play the high flying Soo Blue Devils and suffered their first setback Although smaller than the Blue Devils the Hematites fought them on even terms throughout most of the game. Richard Wuorenmaa scored the l-lematites' .Jnly touchdown on a beautiful 65-yard run. Ishpeming 14. Marquette 19 The l-lematites traveled to Marquette for their fourth game. Marquette scored first and ' .',' ent on to hold a l3-6 halftime lead, The l-lematites came back strong in the second haf, however, and went out in front 14-13 until the final min- ute of the game. Marquette completed a desperation pass and then went in to score the winning touchdown. Ishpeming 33, Negaunee U The l-lematites had little trouble defeating the Negaunee eleven and wound up with a de- cisive victory. Bob Wills scored 27 points in his best offensive performance of the year.
