Zditanial . Between the covers of this book, we have collect¬ ed a record of the main activities of the past year. We hope that it will bring back treasured memories of your school life. As the years pass by and you turn these thumb-soiled pages, you will recall a forgotten face, an enjoyable event or a cherished memory. Mildred Johnston j s true that W6j w ho leave Newton this year, may not be able to attain fame or perfection but our years in high school have done much to strengthen our characters and stabilize our thinking, so that, when we go out into the business world or on to University, we shall be capable of making the best use of our gifts and faculties. Let us strive to attain to our school motto, “Vincit qui se vincit” — he conquers who conquers himself, for “He is strong who conquers others; he who conquers himself is mighty”. Remember, the road to success is not to be trod by leaps and bounds. Step by step, little by little—this is the way to Wisdom, Prosperity and Happiness. Millie Johnston, Editor-in-Chief Not in the clamor of the crowded street, Not in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, But in ourselves, are triumph and defeat. —Longfellow Sylvia Stark Jean Fuga Leonard Moroz Jean Zajac Newtonian 7
