FRESHMAN NEWS There we re twenty pupils in the Freshman class this year. Louise Muller, Mary Lou Quathamer and David Cerka were new additions to our class from Defiance. The class officers elected were as follows: President ------------- Kenneth Krueger Vice-President ----------- Jack Buthman Secretary-Treasurer ----- Louise Muller Miss Langenfeld was the class sponsor. For the Freshmen initiation into high school, each student was dressed and a different comic-strip character. At noon the Seniors marched the Freshmen down main street and in the evening the upperclassmen held a party in their honor. At the party the Freshmen were requested to do what the Seniors commanded of them, but all in all even said Freshman class enjoyed it. The majority of students in the ninth grade participated in the glee clubs. Four girls and one boy played instruments in the band. Two Freshman boys were on the baseball squad. Seven boys and four girls represented the basketball. The Freshman subjects and teachers were as follows: English ------------------------------ Algebra -------------------- --- ---- General Science --------- - Junior Business Training --- SOPHOMORE NEWS Freshman class in Miss Pomeroy Mr. Lord Mr. Lord - Miss Langenfeld Last fall eighteen Sophomores--eleven girls and seven boys--began another school year of hard work. Ruth Ann Nielsen from Defiance was the only addition to the class. The class officers elected were as follows: President ------------ Beverly Thompson Vice-President -------- Gloria Thompson Secretary ------ ---- L adelle Wiese Treasurer --------- ---- F rieda Petersen Mr. Lord was the class sponsor. Five boys and nine girls participated in the boys' and girls' glee clubs Three boys and three girls were in band. Four boys were on the baseball squad. Six boys and six girls represented the Sophomore class in Basketball.
