Small miracles of Nature surround us daily, making our world a more beautiful place to live. 4 We hope you enjoy this book and the mem- ories it brings back for you. Special thanks to: Mr. Garner Walker for photography; Larry Lott for division page photography; Mrs. Martha Cook for helping keep our finances straight; Mr. Williamson, Mr. John Phillips, and faculty members for assistance and moral support;and Tommy Freeman for help in laying out the book. It is with great pride that we dedicate this annual to Mr. John Phillips. He is always ready to help his students and constantly gives of his time and efforts. We of the staff especially appreciate the patience he has had with us when we invaded the stock room to finish this annual. A member of the I.C.H.S. faculty for four years, he received his B.S. from Valdosta State College. Mr. Phillips is married to Audrey Phillips and they have a son, John Phillips. Dedication 6 Faculty 7 Frequently, we laugh at ourselves and relieve our frustrations by comparing our- selves to an amusing animal. This is only one small debt we owe to our furry friends. Instead of issuing orders from his of- fice, he has participated in activities and been the students’ friend. We are really fortunate to have a principal like him. 9 Richard C. Irwin County High School’s achievements were big in 1974-75. Baseball had a great year with the team winning Sub-region, Regional, Sectional, South Georgia, and State Championships. Also, Coach Ben Snipes was elected State Baseball Coach of the Year. The Boys and Girls Basketball teams tasted success when both won Sub-region titles. They really made I.C.H.S. look good by bringing home the Best Sportsmanship Trophy for Region 2-A for the second consecutive year. Tennis gained renown with Gaye Jeffries winning second in Girls Singles, Region 2-A. Track gained fame in Region 2-A with Charles Collins placing first in shot put and discus, Damon Carver first in mile and two mile, Charlie Paschal first in high hurdles and first in intermediate hurdles, Carlton Jones second in discus, Harold Oliver second in shot put, and Robbie Phillips second in high hurdles. Coach Wcyman Vickers was elected Track Coach of the year for Region 2-A. The College Bowl Team brought recognition to the academic scene by placing second out of twenty-six schools in the Americus Aca- demic Bowl and first out of seven schools in the Thomasville-Noessis Academic Bowl. They were coached by Mrs. Mary Ann McDaniel. Literary events brought even more recognition to I.C.H.S. in Region 2-A. The One-Act Play placed second in region competition, Randy Jones placed first in spelling, Sherry Cumby placed second in girls solo, Debbie Paulk placed fourth in piano, and girls solo won a fourth. or AMCWICa Bottom to Top: Cindy Griffin, Donna Clark, Terri Boatright, Angie Turk, Jane Tankersley, Naomi Williamson, Margaret Yarbrough, Angela Jones, Phyllis Dickerson, Becky Zorn, Sherry Harper, Tina Tucker, Donna Paul, Linda Downs, Denise Denny, Sheila Hunter, Linda Duke, Brenda Gibbs, Brenda Dunlap, Rosaline Wilcox, Lena Mae Bryant, Carolyn Morgan, Brenda Johnson, Bobbie Wynn, Gcnnis Mobley, Annette Bryant, Sandra Hodge, Sherry Reeves, Pam Wiggins, Vicki Purvis, Nancy Tucker, Brenda Gambcll, Angela Williams, Julie Paulk, Jan Freeman, Miriam Alligood, Pam Whitley, Rene Smith, Nancy Fletcher, Julia Boone, Sharon Wilcox, Alicia Jordan, Cynthia Miller, Saundrctte Gibbs, Cathy Mixon, Sherry Giddcns, Jacob Ewing. The dreams of the Band finally came true this year as they walked on the football field and down Fourth Street in their new uniforms. It was a great task to accomplish, but made possible by friendly patrons buying anything from cup holders to household cleaners.
