MR- PAUL SCOTT 12 GEORGIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Star Student JERRY HUNTER High grades during the senior year, and the highest score on an intraschool competition College Board Test are requisites for being a Star Student. This competition is open to seniors in all Georgia schools. Jerry will compete with winners in other schools for State Star Student. Jerry chose Mr. Purvis as the teacher who contributed the most in helping him become the Star Student at Irwin High School. 13 Governor’s Honor Student Jane Rodgers Jane was one of a select few who participated in Gov. Carl Sanders' program for exceptional students at Weslyan College. Jane has exceptional interest and ability in Social Science. They were chosen by the National Science Founda- tion because of their interest and achiev- raent in these Sciences. State Sweet Potato Queen The Georgia Sweet Potato Queen was chosen from a field of can- didates by a board of judges be- cause of her beauty, talent and congeniality.
