Michelle Akers led the girls in Cross Country run- ning competition. She placed second in the Mission Valley Athletic League finals and advanced to the North Coast Section 4-A championship meet. Stacy Bolivia placed fifth in the MVAL finals and also advanced to the NCS-4-A championship meet. Kathy Tilton also did well in the MVAL finals by placing ninth. They had six returning starters: Cheryl Cano, Tracy Birdwell, Teresa Martinez, and Nikki Winovich. Tracy Birdwell and Nikki Winovich were this year's captains. They also attended many pre-sea- son track events and did very well. Although the team was rather small in size, they still had an outstanding year.
