Qiv BOYS J. . BASKETBALL The J.V. Basketball team was coached this year by Phil Rockey. The team was right at the top in both their defensive and offensive aver- ages. The team captains were Scott Pisle and Rgngyjlalmer. The pre-season record was sev- en wins and two losses. This years team was made up of two freshman, six sophomores, and four juniors. The average team members height was 5'1O , and the tallest player was 6'3 . Players singled out for their good sports- manship were Tim Battaion, Grable Ramirez and Ray Thatcher. Coach Rockey feels the team has a very good chance for the M.V.A.L. The team averaged 65 points per game. The captains were Don Harman and Tim Palmer. The pre-season record was four wins and five losses. The leading scorers were Don Harman, Tim Palmer, and Bobby Smith. Returning to the team next year will be Tim Palmer, Scott Garner, Chris Knight, and Dan Birdwell. The graduating seniors from the team will be Don Harman, Bobby Smith, Dean Church, Dave Graham, and Curt Valdovinos. The average height was 6'2 , and the tallest players were Knight and Graham at 6'4 . Coach Hein said this years team played well gg together, and under control.
