Last year's Frosh-Soph Baseball team broke even with a record of four wins and four losses. The team concentrated on function- ing as a single unit. This year's team is not recognized by MVAL, because there isn't enough money to organize a team with proper equipment and trans- portation. So the team has con- centrated on the fundamentals of baseball, instead of winning. The Frosh-Soph program is used as a building program for Varsity. Fundamentals are taught and stressed. Hustle and attitude are of the utmost importance. They let winning and losing take care of itself, and don't worry about indi- vidual status. They practice, play hard, and have a lot of fun!

Last year the Varsity Base- ball team tied with Kennedy for the M.V.A.L. title. The dedication and enthusiasm from the 1979 Champs was carried over to this years young team. Coach Russ Watson felt that hitting, de- fense, and base running should be better than aver- age. The individuals expect- ed to excel were: Al Arm- strong at shortstop, Leroy Fitzgerald, Bob Brown and Ray Gress all returning Sen- iors from the outfield.
