TRACK TRACK TRACK Go for it! VARSITY The Varsity team began this sea¬ son in terrific style. They won their first few events to get them off on the right foot. The Varsity team was a strong team indeed. Irvington ' s track team have many fine individuals who compete in such events as high jumping, long jumping, the triple jump, shot-put¬ ting, hurdling, relays, and distance racing. J.V. TENNIS The junior Varsity Tennis team has completely domi¬ nated ).V. tennis in the last five years, winning the cham¬ pionship five times. This year ' s team featured such great young players as Doug Brumfield, John Nunez, the Miramontes brothers, Hugo and Dan. This year ' s ).V. team was one of the biggest in numbers and should win the championship for the sixth straight time. These girls gave their all tor the many competitions they were entered in. Steve Houseworth and Steve Garger proved again to be a big help to Coach Buum at these events. The Frosh-Soph Track Team of Irvington has some very fine young prospects. These young boys proved to be loaded with spirit and brought themselves ahead of the other bay area schools. Steve Houseworth and Steve Garger helped Coach Buum to train these young players through out the year to make them what they are.
