J.V. TENNIS The junior Varsity Tennis team has completely domi¬ nated ).V. tennis in the last five years, winning the cham¬ pionship five times. This year ' s team featured such great young players as Doug Brumfield, John Nunez, the Miramontes brothers, Hugo and Dan. This year ' s ).V. team was one of the biggest in numbers and should win the championship for the sixth straight time. Irvington High School ' s Varsity Ten¬ nis team has been a prep power house for the last five years. This year ' s team has already proven itself to be another great team. The Varsity Tennis team has only lost one tennis match and that was five years ago. At the be¬ ginning of the season they had won 71 straight tennis matches and have won the MVAL Ten¬ nis championship five times in a row. This years team features such great players as the Duncan brothers Bradley and Barry, followed by Jeffery Bonifield, Ray Nunez, and John Gould- thorpe. The doubles are also outstanding with players such as Ross Deeter, Dayton Burkholder, Thomas Huges, and Bradley Dorsey. TRACK TRACK TRACK Go for it! VARSITY The Varsity team began this sea¬ son in terrific style. They won their first few events to get them off on the right foot. The Varsity team was a strong team indeed. Irvington ' s track team have many fine individuals who compete in such events as high jumping, long jumping, the triple jump, shot-put¬ ting, hurdling, relays, and distance racing.
