C.S.F . . .C.S.F . . .C.S.F . . . . Irvington ' s California Scholarship Federation is a pro¬ gram for high school students to foster a high standard of scholarship and general academic attainment. Irvington ' s C.S.F. club has ninety-four members. All of these members must achieve at least a solid B average each semester. Recognition of a C.S.F. member is truly an honor. Mem¬ bership in C.S.F. includes a gold seal on the diploma, per¬ manent record, and scholarships. Some C.S.F. activities for last year were the Freshmen Orientation, the Brain Bowl and the Carnation Sale for Val¬ entine ' s Day. VIKING PARENT’S CLUB The Viking Parent Club is a combination of parents and teachers who wish to improve the education and working conditions at Irving¬ ton. The Parent Club tries to give students help with problems at school and makes donations to some departments. These gifts are funded with money from the Viking Parent Club activities. These activities are Parent Night, Career Night and the annual Flea Market. The Viking Parent Club President for this year was Diane Harlow; Vice Presi¬ dent Thelma Thompson with Mary ' Andrews as Secretary and Theresa Fbbler as Trea¬ surer. Much appreciation is in order for Irvington ' s Viking Parent Club. Thank You. INTERNATIONAL CLUB The International Club brings together those stu¬ dents that are interested in different cultures. The club also serves the function of welcoming and making for¬ eign exchange students comfortable during their stay at Irvington High School. International club officers are: Michelle Williams, Pres¬ ident; Dorothy Tyler, Secre¬ tary; and Donna Persico, Treasurer. Ms. Ulbricht and Ms. Tomlinson are the club advisors. The International Club vis¬ ited O ' Sol Mio ' s restaurant and Alcatraz Island in San Francisco and other places. These events were funded by various activities such as the St. Patrick ' s Day carna¬ tion sale. Irvington ' s 77-78 Student Council has been successful in planning and coordinating the various activities that were held this year, such as, Freshman Orientation, Papa Du Run Run, Spirit Week and the Nominations Convention. The Student Council was also successful in forming a new Student Advisory Council which was organized to lower the increasing amount of thefts on cam¬ pus.
