Guys and Dolls is an off-beat musical that in¬ volves two couples in an unusual romance. The story takes place in New York City during the early 1950 ' s. Skye Masterson and Sarah Brown are the first couple and Nathan Detriot and Adelaide are the second couple. Skye and Nathan are gambling buddies. One night Skye bets on whether or not he can go out with Sarah Brown, a Salvation Army worker. Sarah accepts Skye on the promise of receiving twelve converted sinners . The second couple Nathan and Adelaide have been engaged for fourteen years. Adelaide is a chorus girl at the Hot Box. When the girls discover that Skye and Nathan are still gambling after they promised not to, Sarah and Adelaide refused to marry them. Sarah and Adelaide, however change their minds with the idea of changing Skye and Nathan after they ' re married. Guys and Dolls was performed on May 18, 19, and 20th at 7:10 P.M. with a matinee the 20th at twelve o ' clock. Admission was $2.50 for General, and $2.00 with A.S.B., under 12 or over 65. The mu¬ sical took 2 1 2 hours to perform. Ms. Linda jack- son was the choreographer, blocker and director of Guys and Dolls . Mr. Wayne Edwards con¬ ducted the music and Mrs. Lee Glover worked with the vocal parts. Ms. Jackson was very ably assisted by Les Hackey (Asst. Dir.) and the sixth period play production crew without whose help Guys and Dolls would not have been a success it was.
