Under the baton of Mr. Wayne Edwards, the Stage band kept busy all year. They performed thei r an¬ nual Christmas show; as well as a Winter Concert and a Spring Concert. The high¬ light of the year, for the Stage band, was this year ' s musical, Guys and Dolls for which the band gave a highly praised performance. Larry Jones, the student director, and Gary Rogers, the Assistant Student Direc¬ tor, were chosen by the band students to help Mr. Edwards. SYMPHONIC BAND The Symphonic band, under the direc¬ tion of Mr. Wayne Edwards, performed on many different occasions. Early in October, the combination Marching Band-Symphonic Band per¬ formed and marched in the Pathfinder ' s Pa¬ rade: for this performance they were awarded second place. lust prior to Christmas vacation, they performed their annual Winter Concert. The graduation music was also per¬ formed by the Symphonic band. Our color guards for this year were very actively involved in school spirit. They could be seen at football games and parades. They also participated in Cal Band Day and the Cupertino Band Review. Their merits in¬ cluded a second place in the Veterans ' Day Parade and supe¬ rior ribbons in field routines dur¬ ing their stay at a rifle camp last summer in Santa Barbara.
