Dr. Meyer has been a counselor here at Irvington for some past years, but is now counseling in the Career Guidance Center and some sophomores, juniors and seniors. His work in the Career Guidance staff enables him to find resource materials for the other counselors and to inform students of their scholarship and grant opportunities. He assists students in educational and career planning. His back¬ ground includes a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling. Dr. Meyer said he en¬ joys helping students solve their problems and to find a direction for their lives. Mrs. Real was the counselor for last year ' s seniors. She has worked with the class of 78 since 1976. Her counseling qualifications include a Master of Arts Degree in Education, specializing in Guidance and Coun¬ seling, a Pupil Personnel Credential, as well as Administrative and Teach¬ ing Credentials. She also taught a va¬ riety of subjects and has done some supervising work in Fremont ' s Com¬ munity Education Center. Mrs. Real loves her work but is frustrated by the increasing demands of paper¬ work which reduce her time with in¬ dividual students. Mr. Lynch was the Junior class counselor. He is available to all stu¬ dents who are having difficulty pass¬ ing courses needed for graduation. Mr. Lynch believes that the counsel¬ ing center of several years ago was more effective. The counselors worked more with individual stu¬ dents, groups of students, parents and staff. He as a Masters Degree in Counseling with previous experience teaching and counseling. Mr. James Klent Member Dr. Wayne Ferguson Superintendent BOARD OF EDUCATION Fremont ' s Board of Education is an elected five member group of citizens. The Board of Education establishes the policies of the fi¬ nancial and personnel decisions concerning the schools. The Board meets the first, second, and fourth Wednesday of each month.
