VARSITY FOOTBALL This year’s Varsity Football team showed definite improvement over teams of the recent past. For the first time in the last three years they finished with a winning record of five wins, two ties and three losses. The main asset of the team has been a “to¬ getherness” and dedication to the job at hand. Although the of¬ fense did sputter at times, it proved able to put points on the board when they were really needed. Defensively, the Vikings were nothing short of outstanding, giving an average of less than ten points per game to all opponents. Coach Miller said that this team was a pleasure to coach and that this year’s se¬ niors were a group that he will always remember for their hu¬ mor as well as their ability to play football. FRESHMAN The Frosh Football team last year was a period of both trial and er¬ ror. Though the scoreboard didn’t favor the Irvington side too often, it did provide the Frosh team with experience, which will improve the skills of each player for next year.
