Our Foreign Exchange Students John Neilson is from Denmark and he is staying with the Schwinghammers. He has been here approximately four months and plans to leave next summer. John said he had enjoyed himself during his stay in Fre¬ mont. His father is a former forest ranger and his mother is a worker at the Red Cross Home. John likes to travel and get Educated as an advertising designer. He wants to visit the United States again, but that will be in the future. Martin Heppe is from West Germany. He is staying with Jim and Mary Knight. Mar¬ tin has been here for four months and he’s enjoying himself. Martin’s father is an em¬ ployee at an insurance company and his mother is a housewife. Martin enjoys dancing, sailing, bawling, discussing. He plans to return to Germany in July 1 977. Richard Nils Hansson Lives in Sweden Sueige and was born in Malmo Trelle- borg. He has been here for one year and is staying with the Hornbuckle Fam¬ ily. Richard is an SIS Student Inter¬ national. As an IHS student he is active in the International Club, Ski Club, Math Club. Richard’s hobbies are ski¬ ing, sailing and Disco Dancing. Since Richard has been here he has visited Santa Cruz, Hawaii and San Francisco. The rest of his plans include trips to Dis¬ neyland, New York, and Florida. Close-up “Close up ’ is a week of in-depth study of our Federal government in Washington D.C. During the week in Washington they had a chance to meet other “Close Up” students from the Bay Area and Michigan. They talked with mem¬ bers of Congress and other Washington officials. Close Up is a government organized program.
