Golf... Golf... Golf... Golf The Viking Golf team was very strong in 1 977. At the time of the writing of this article the team had lost only one match. The team was considered one of the favorites for the league championship. The team was led by the best golfer in the M.V.A.L. as a junior, Jamie Hay, who captured the individual champion¬ ship in 1976. Four of the top six golfers will return next year insuring the Vi¬ kings of another good team. Pictured: Back Row, Steve McLure, Brett Yuhas, Steve Stevens, Mike Madson, Tim Harper, Greg Wayne. Back The 1976 Viking squad was made up of two seniors, twelve sophomores and three freshmen. The frosh-soph team had some very outstanding performers. Even though being only a sophomore. Rich Moraida was the number one man on the team. Mike Galvin, a sophomore, was also one of the top competitors. Jimmy Pena and Charles Adgie, two freshmen, did an outstanding job, throughout the season. Carlos Servantes and Rodger Adams were the two seniors on the varsity squad. They did a good job throughout the season. It was unfortunate they did not have more upperclassmen running with them. Each meet three sophomores would run with the varsity. In the MVAL finals the frosh-soph placed fourth to qualify for the NCS division meet. 114
