Although they were one of the smallest teams in the MVAL they more tha n held their own by playing tenacious defense and making the most of an aggressive running and hus¬ tling type of offense. Girls’ Soccer Girls Soccer appeared on the sport scene for the first time this year. Our Viking girls put to¬ gether a fine defensive team which gave even the top schools a run for their money. The goalkeeper, Gayle Paul¬ son, had a very good season, displaying out¬ standing performance even though she had never played the posi¬ tion before. Other out¬ standing players were ninth graders, Mary Giavonnoni and Margie Hay along with Junior, Sharon Robichard and Senior, Karen O’Brien.
