Keep on Trikin ' was the theme for our first annual Tricycle Race at Irvington High School. The Tricycle Race was sponsored by the Performing Arts Department on November 15, 1973 to raise funds for this years musical Bye-Bye Birdie. Each triker was sponsored by a local business, school club, school organization or individual. The fee was five dollars to enter and over thirty trikers entered. There were three heats, and the best three out of each heat went into the final heat. Patrick Erwin took first place. Second place went to Drew Coleman and third place went to Ken Hardaway. The Pep Band played, refreshments were sold, and prizes were distributed. The whole event was very successful, and will be held again next year. So get those trikes ready! SeniOR-junioi SpiRit Pay” The surfing seniors were this year ' s winning class for Spirit Week. It wasn ' t hard to figure out what their theme was. With their red. white, and blue striped shirts, cut offs and the sandy beaches it turned out to be an excellent display of Surfers. The Seniors had a special breakfast held at the Fremont Inn. The Juniors theme was the Summer of 62 . They performed an entertaining show during our lunch period. The young ladies wore long skirts. Bobbysocks and Pony-tails which matched the charming young men. who appeared with their sunglasses, sleeveless Musclemen shirts and of course their rolled up pants. They took second place in our Spirit Week Competition. 21
