Bye Bye Birdie is one of the most captivating musical shows of our time. It tells the story of a Rock and Roll singer who is about to be inducted into the Army. Conrad Birdie, an Elvis Presley type, sings in a rugged voice and wears gaudy gold costumes at all possible times. Albert Peterson, is a very pleasant mild mannered type. It is his faithful secretary Rose Alvarez, that keeps him and Birdie moving forward in the world. Rosie concocts one final national publicity plan before Conrads induction, he will bid a typical all American teenage girl, with an All-American kiss. Kim Mac Afee of Sweet Apple Ohio wins the honor. The arrival of Birdie in Sweet Apple causes wholesale swoonings. by the old and the young Fine performances were given by Rick Sumners and Linda Ralph, as Albert Peterson and his faithful secretary Rose Alvarez. The rest of the cast and the orchestra combined their talents to add a most marvelous harmony to the Musical.
