Basketball Although our Viking Varsity Basketball didn’t finish with a tremendous season, they will put forth all they had. One thing can be said about the team, THE VIKINGS NEVER QUIT! This year’s squad, which had only four seniors on it, was probably the most inexperienced team in the league. Coach Fred Kemper did an outstanding job in handling the team through its inaugural season. This year’s won-lost record of 1 and 22 is going to rise to fame next year. Dave Wolfsmith was elected Cantain and Most Valuable Player by his teammates. Dave Smith, a junior, was voted the team’s Most Inspirational Plaver. Wolfsmith also made Honorable Mention in the ESCVAL. In the statistical department, Dave Wolfsmith once again was the leader. Dave led in every category but three. These three were led by senior Dan Henderson. Dave led such categories as most rebounds, 143: recoveries, 71; field goals made, 88; field goal percentage, 33 per cent; total points made 212, which placed him seventh in the league. Dan led in assists, with 16; and also led the team in total free throw percentage with 64 per cent of his tries.
