Irvington’s Vee-Bee’s set a Viking precedent by win¬ ning their biggest game of the season. The Viking light¬ weights hustled onto the Huskies field for their first meeting with the Washington Puppies. The high spirit¬ ed Vee-Bee’s whipped the Puppies 13-0 in an exciting prelude to the varsity game. Highlight of the Bee game came when Dick Barham took a handoff and threw a long pass to Ray Edwards for the longest T.D. of the game. The Vee-Bee’s had three touchdowns called back, but still managed to whip the Puppies 13-0. BELOW: Lockwood (left picture) moves in to make a tackle on an Andrew Hill ball carrier. Villa (right picture) carries around the Hill right end for a long gainer.

Irvington’s first year J.V.’s, like the Varsity, had a successful season despite their win-loss record. The Junior Varsity won one, tied one and lost four, but de¬ spite this they still kept high spirits and made impress¬ ive efforts in each game. Mainstay of the Junior-Varsity was half-back. Bill Graham. Bill was a hard running and elusive back and the leading yard gainer for the team. Bill also scored three of the team’s seven touchdowns for the season. He is pictured above. Bill, along with Mike Siedentopf, Dennis Lynn and Paul Heslep, who all shined on defense, will be extremely valuable to next year’s Varsity. Another offensive pow¬ erhouse for the J.V.’s was Chuck Rios, who also scored three T.D.’s and who will also be valuable to the Varsity.
