Dedication Last year a red-haired Yankee crossed the Mason-Dixon Line and entered the ranks of the T.T.,s fTexas Teachers.j With her quick repartee, flashing smile, and congenial and inspirational classes, Miss Marilyn Bingman easily won for herself a place in the hearts of I.H.S. students. It is, there- fore, a pleasure and an honor to dedicate the pages of the 1955 LAIR to one who has Worked unceasingly with us to make this hook a success . . . Yankee lVIarilyn 'GBing,, Bing- man.

Preface We, the annual staff, bestow upon you our gift, the 1955 Lair, as a tangi- ble token portraying a year filled with great happiness, many joys, and a few sorrows. Being filled with reminiscences, this gift will bring you hours of poign- ant memories of pleasurable experiences both now and in the future years. Hoping that you will reflect upon the memories in this book, we have strived to build it, not around any specific activity, but around all of the activities of our school.. We hope this Lair will so illuminate your nostalgic memories of IHS and the Tigers that you shall never permit this spark of reminiscence to fade: Tiger, tiger burning bright In the forest ofthe night . . .', WILLIAM BLAKE
