' Team, Under the supervision of Miss Peggy Hughes, the lrving High School Tigerettes racked up an interesting record during the 1954--55 season. The team, sparked by their captains, La Quita Carlisle and Io Kee, displayed an enthusiastic demonstration of athletic ability and interest. Another team of which we were proud was the BH team. These girls, under the student direction of the captains, Virginia Brewton and Patsy Ramsey, practiced hard and racked up a good record in their competitive play. Baseball Team One of the most fascinating spring sports is baseball. Showing much versatility in batting, fielding, and run- ning, the Tigers had a very stimulating season. Under the expert coaching of Gene Hodge, the team displayed the fine sportsmanship and athletic ability which is tra- ditional at IHS. The fine cooperation among the players is an attribute to the team sports at Irving High. There has never been an overabundance of student support of our baseball team in the past.
