Irving agreed with Plano, District 16A champion, to settle the Bi-District contest on Gar1and's neutral gridiron. The game took place on the night of November 5, and the Wildcats proved no match for Irving. Scoring early and scoring late, the Bengals r 011 ed up 20 first downs and over 400 yards to annihilatetheir rivals Z7-0 and earn the right to meet Bowie for the Regional Championship. The Tigers m et the powerful Bowie jackrabbits at Denton on the wintry night of December 12 for Region 4. They had lost to these same Rabbits on the same gridiron th e year before and needless to say they were out for revenge. The Bowie team had a winning streak oftwenty one consec- utive games, but the streak was broken that night to thet un e of Z0-0. The Tigers established themselves as the greatest team in Irving history and one of the finest in the state and as such, will always be a goal for future Tiger teams to shoot at. the championship o f Managers Tuffy and George kept things in top shape Date Opponent 8 They Sept .1 Sept Oct Oct Oct Oct Nov Nov Nov 31 as LJ: Tri Captains Grider, Turner and Stearns Grand Prairie Mesquite Rockwall Woodrow W11sonfB Buckner s O Home Garland Pleasant Grove Hillcrest Carrollton W I 6 . 19 ' ' 6 o Q B f -sr, . 26 ' zo 9 K 5 . 3 26 6 : . 10 ' J 52 o ' ' ' . 17 ' . , 33 o X .
