Mr. Harris has a BS degree from Texas A8zI., A youthful social studies teacher who finds that he and his students have a 'lot in common is MR. GEORGE MILLER. Here he shows Judy Rettinger r how to conduct a trial. MRS. FRANCES THURMAN, world his- tory teacher, has a BS from Lamar State College. Both she and Don Pressler are caught by the photographefs camera. MR. JAMES HART, social studies teacher, has a BA from the University of V Texas. Here he shows his viewpoint to Carl Reiner. Irvin band instructor, MR. MILES O. CULVER, pauses for the cameramen. He has a BSE from East Illinois University and has taught in El Paso two years. Each summer, Mr. Culver teaches at Sunshine Music Camp, Portales, N.M. Chatting with Pat Arn- old is MR. RAOUL NEG-RETTE, F r e ri c h teacher. Mr. Negrette, who has a BA from Texas Western College, ,has traveled throughout the United States and Canada. 22 Since music is her hobby, it's only nat- ural that MRS. RUTH B. DAVIS should teach vocal music. Mrs. Davis, who has a BA from North Texas .State College and an MA from' Texas West- ern College, is a member oi the Na- tional Association of Teachers of Sing- mg. M , l Pretending she's a student again, MRS. BEATRICE MAYHON smiles for our photographer. And in a way she is, for Mrs. Mayhon, a Latin and English teacher, who already has a BA and an MA, is working for her PhD. Giving the cue to his orchestra students is MR. ALBERT A. PETERSEN. A very able director who has inspired our or- chestra students, Mr. Petersen also finds time to play principal bass violin with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra. Using a tape recorder to teach correct pronuncia- tion is one ot the new innovations in MR. AMA- DOR LICON'S Spanish class. Here he and Bill Birdseye demonstrate how it is done.

fir Showing his ingenuity at experiments is MR. JODY HUCKABAY, che- mistry teacher. Mr. Huck- abay received his BS de- gree from Texas Agricul- tural and Mechanical College. N MR. UDELL R. TARPLEY, who received his BS degree from Oklahoma State University, teaches biology and general science. Mr. Tarpleyis hobbies include fishing and square dancing. A Q6 1: v 24 MR. LIBORIO BLANCO, biology and math teacher, received his BS from Southeastern State College. Mr. Blanco enjoys music - both classical and popular. l Instructing his biology classes on the use of the microscope, MR. JO- SEPH ANDERSON jok- ingly puts a frog under the lens. Coach Ander- son also teaches general science and coaches the HB basketball team. Dissecting a frog in one of his biology classes is MR. LEON MALLON. Mr. Mallon has a BS, MS, and DDS from New York University and Columbia Uni- versity. Among his hobbies, he enjoys photomicrography 'and fishing. ....T, , ,
