Following this came the Rockets' best show, perhaps the most thrilling game of the season, that with Ysleta - Irvin winning 14-6. After this game, which tested the strength of the Rockets, they had two fairly easy games: slaughtering Bowie 36-0 and beating Tech 20-14. The most important game was played on November 7 when the lrvin Rockets, then in second place,' met the Jefferson Foxes, the first place team. This touchdown seemed to lessen considerably the morale of the Foxes and during the fourth quarter the Rockets scored their second touchdown. Although fighting courageously, the Foxes could not stage a comeback and the game ended with a score of 14--O. Although weakened by injuries, the Rockets showed the kind of spirit and determin- ation that we hope will become a tradition at Irvin, by defeating the Bel Air High- landers 14-6.
