C. 1rvin saw the building of the first El Paso school. H5 1 is R, L u DR. E. H. IRVIN A pioneer El Paso physician, Dr. E. H. Irvin served on the school board during the years 1910- 1913, inclusive, and was president of the board during 1912 and 1913. At the time he was on the school board, El Paso was suffering from growing pains and as a result a four-block site was chosen in the Alexander Addition for a new high school. E1 Paso High School became a reality.. MR. C. lVI. IRVIN Mr. C. M. Irvin is a native El Pasoan and a 1921 graduate of E1 Paso High School. Mr. Irvin is a former president of the El Paso Chamber of Com- merce and Sun Carnival Association. Mr. Irvin served as president of the schoolboard from 1955 through April 8, 1958. As a climax to a fine season, on the return trip the team learned that Jefferson had been beaten by Ysleta. Upon hearing this, coaches and boys alike went Wild. More than one boy was joyfully drenched in a ceremonial shower party at the Irvin field house. The coaches and the entire student body of Irvin High School are proud of their football team. And, they are eagerly anticipating next year's football season when Irvin enters varsity competition.
