This touchdown seemed to lessen considerably the morale of the Foxes and during the fourth quarter the Rockets scored their second touchdown. Although fighting courageously, the Foxes could not stage a comeback and the game ended with a score of 14--O. Although weakened by injuries, the Rockets showed the kind of spirit and determin- ation that we hope will become a tradition at Irvin, by defeating the Bel Air High- landers 14-6. The last game of the season was played at Burges where the Rockets roared over the Mustangs 38-0. H6 Catch that ball, Rocket! Oh Well! He almost got away. As a climax to a fine season, on the return trip the team learned that Jefferson had been beaten by Ysleta. Upon hearing this, coaches and boys alike went Wild. More than one boy was joyfully drenched in a ceremonial shower party at the Irvin field house. The coaches and the entire student body of Irvin High School are proud of their football team. And, they are eagerly anticipating next year's football season when Irvin enters varsity competition.
