“Senior Class History One early September morning in 1937 four little girls started on their first trip te schoel. They were Samie Umiker, Judy Berger, Vila Rae Hill, and Ruth Warner. Frank Shade joined us in our first year of school from Ogden, Utah. In the third grade John Califf became a member ef our class from Portland, Oregon. During the fourth grade we were priviledged to gain Connie Swearingen, who skipped from the third grade and Lynn Huwe, from Willamina, Oregon. Two brothers from Arlington, Oregon, Joined us in the seventh grade. They were Lee and Verne Simmons. In the same year John Collins joined us from Ottawa Kansas. Sharon Olson from San Diego, California, and Jerry Franke from Umatilla, Oregon entered our last year of grade school with us, the eighth grade. After finishing our Freshmen year John Collins moved te Hermisten, Oregon, and Sharon Olson moved to Canyonvllle, Oregon. During our Sophomore year we gained two new students Kathy ladgwick from Concord, California, and Lynn Matlack from Umatilla, Oregon. Sharon Olson Joined us again the later half of the year. From Banks, Oregon, Judy Parsons came to be with us in our Junior year. In our last year of school Dave Brownlee joined us from Castle Rock, Washington and John Collins rejoined us in the later half of the year. And so on a May afternoon in 1959 seventeen graduates started on their last trlp home from school. CLASS MOTTO From the well marked trail to the open plains. CLASS COLORS Red and Silver CLASS FLOWER Red Rose GROUP WILLS To the Juniors we leave our ability to make money. To the Sophomores we leave our athletic ability. To the Freshmen we leave our ability to get along with teachers. To the Eighth Grade we leave all our memories of Irrlgon High School as they will never be able to experience them. enior Class Prophecy We view these boys and girls after half a score of yearsg Want to hear of their successes--give them love advice, and cheers. John Califf's over in India with a globe encircling crew, Kathy teaches her brood of four what is good and right to do. Phys. Ed. teacher, Judy Berger, has a husband tall and fine, Lynn Huwe's a bookkeeper for our biggest Air Ship Line. Connie Married her boss, is now a college pres1dent's wife, Posters made by Judy Parson's Shop urge peace instead of s rife. Jerry and his recent bride are walking around the world, While Sharon, our politician, has her campaign flags unfurled. Ruth has ho music pupils and ten thousand laying hensg Lee, in Alabama, fattens white-faced steers in pens. Junk-dealer supreme, John Collins, lolls in wealth and ease, Verne flies an airplane in the isles of southern seas. David makes and sells reflectors to capture solar heat' Vila cuddles a baby son, and has two little girls sweet. Samie, president of a Mothers' Club, hurries away to help a friend, Lynn H. sells vacuum cleaners, and has a Sea-Scout group to tend. Frank, driving a wrecker, sees broken bodies and steel, He urges constant carefulness whenever you take the wheel.
