Senior Class Will We, the Class of 1950 of the Irrigon High School, County of Morrow, and State of Oregon, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and realizing that we must part with sundry honors, talents, looks and emotions, do hereby pronounce this our last will and testament. First. We hereby bequeath to our beloved superintendent, Mr. Goldan, our respect for his careful guidance over the storm tossed seas of knowledge. Second. To our advisor, we give our loving friendship with a bit of sweet memory from every Senior. Third. To the faculty, we do hereby bequeath the fond memories of our most brilliant class and wish to express our tender and sincere sympathy for the loss they are about to experience. Fourth. To our school, we leave our High School records in public speaking, music, and athletics of all kinds. Fifth. We give to our successors, the Juniors, our seats in the Senior Row on condition that they keep them as nicely as we have also, we bequeath to them the high school. We desire the Juniors to do all in their power to help fill the vacancy left by us in the hearts of the faculty members. Sixth. We solemnly bequeath to the unsuspecting Sophomores a deeper sense of duty, and wider view on life, which will aid them in becoming lordly Seniors. Seventh. The individual Seniors, each, having valuable possessions do here- by bequeath them as follows: I, Larry Filley do will and bequeath my bird like appetite to Butch. My faith in Fords to Mr. Goldan, my good tires to Fred Acock. My ability to get stuck in the sand to Helen. l, Ray Shade, do will and bequeath my ability to pass Algebra and Geometry to Mickey Phaneuf. I, Bob Critchlow, do will and bequeath my fat to George Russell, my driving ability to Marlene. I, Don Poulson, do will and bequeath my ability to get into trouble to Jim Kenney, my beard to Ronald Berger, providing he combs it every morning. I, Bob Adams, do will and bequeath my ability to stay slim to the .Freshmen girls, my opinion of women to Fred, my Freshman baby suit to Dan Creamer. I'm taking the rest with me. I, Lavern Marlow, do will and bequeath my ability to rag 'em up on a bull fiddle to the Senior Class of next year. 8 Class Prophecy It is May 19, 1980. Mr. Goldan, a portly, elderly gentleman, now retired, is walking down the street in the city of X. As he turned the corner of Fifth and B Street, he met a spry, elderly lady, whom he recognized at once, it is Miss Sharp. They stop to talk over old times when they taught in Irrigon High School. Of course you are retired, Miss Sharp, Oh! My no, replied Miss Sharp. l am teaching in the Progress Business College in Portland. I came here to meet my class of 1950. l am to have luncheon with them here at the club. Mr. Goldan looked at the sign on the building, Bachelor's Club , Yes, my boys are all bachelors. I was a good advisor to them and kept them out of trouble. Well, well, well, replied Goldan, what do they do, what are their occupations ? Oh, they are all fine men. Bob Adams is quite a politician. He has served two terms in the U.S. Senate and is now campaigning for the election to become the first Ambassador to Mars. Bob Critchlow is coach for elementary boys and girls. He teaches them basketball, volleyball, and football. He has a life job. Larry Filley is an Admiral in the U.S. Navy. He is at sea most of the time, we don't see him very often. Lavern Marlow and Ray Shade are comedians, we hear them on the radio quite often. Their show names are Pet and Slats. Don Poulson spends his time in the woods. He is a forest ranger and lives at a ranger station for six months of the year. He lives at Timberline Lodge and teache a ladies' skiing class during his time off. Here come the boys now, glad to have seen you again, Mr. Goldan. Yes, Miss Sharp, I was glad to hear about the class of 1950. l think I shall just stop long enough to shake hands with the boys. Why not have luncheon with us? So we leave Miss Sharp and Mr. Goldan to have lunch with the Class of 1950 at the Bachelor Club. 9 SXQZJQQ YVJSX 555 E3 Wig S CQDEQQW Q V 2:12302 f mkww H34 ' wgfmwx Z! The band played a large selection of nuznbers. The soloists, George Russell and Beth Warner, also participated. The band played during intermissions at ball games and for var- ious programs throughout the year. It was asked to play at Umatilla, for the Presidential Reception. The first contest we entered was at LaGrande on April Zlst and 22nd, The band and soloists received a rating of Hone . The band was given the privilege of participating in the state con- test at Eugene. The band received a three rating, soloists each receiving two . Sneak Day n The Senior Class left on their annual sneak day April 6th, bound for Newport. The boys and Miss Sharp enjoyed the trip to the fullest degree. Throughout the trip there was a violent duel between the occupants of the Adams car and the Filley Ford. At eve ry stop weapons were drawn and hardly a break in the firing. Light Fingered, Lefty Adams was wounded seriously in the left eye by a shot from Cross Drawn Poulson's gun, loaded with stagnet, old, repugnant water. Everyone re- covered from the trip except, Cross Draw Paulson who suffered seri- ously when his water gun was taken away from him. He soon recov- ered when he had a few good meals under his belt. In other words a good time was had by all. This memorable occasion shall live in the hearts of theiClass of '50 for many years to come. 19 .4 S , Q s f ,rf ssi ' SSS ek . eiaef ' wks x N - ' 532 7 -GV' - s rt! ist N 4,541 ' Q A ut K D - . :ai sa 44, i's'Y mi 'Q' X.
