oplzomored The morning of September Seventh, ten Sophomores started to school. Barbara Pettit entered school with the other ten in the third week. Barbara came from Long Beach, California, Irvin Polly, entered our class also, coming from Hover, Washington. We have been active in school affairs. The boys have played foot- ball and basketball, and the girls have participated in volleyball. We elected class officers who were: President ........... Freddie Acock Vice-President ...... George Russell Secretary-Treasurer Irvin Polly Geraldine Hinkley, Eula Amis, and Barbara Pettit were elected cheer leaders. They are all three Sophomores. Fraser, Turner, Warner, Markham, Rucker, Mr. Cunningham, Advisor Pettit, Amis, Russell, Acock, Hinkley .gfegfllhlen The Freshrnen entered the Irrigon High School with fear and trembling on September 3, 1948. They were very green but were looking forward to a happy year. The year opened with seven goys and no girls in the class. At the end of the first semester, Barbara Lawson joined the class. We had charge of the Baseball Throw booth at the carnival. Jim Kenney, a member of our class, acted as clown. The class elected Barbara Pettit from the Sophomore class as honorary candidate for carnival queen. Four Freshman boys won their letters in football. They were: James Keith, Jim Kenney, Leroy Connors, and Norman Simmons. Those Freshmen out for basketball were: Jim Kenney, James Keith, Leroy Connors, Gerald Hinkley, and Norman Simmons. Guerin, Miss Sharp, Advisor Poulson, Shade, Critchlow, Filley, Adarns September 6, 1948, the Junior Class enrolled seven Students. October 18th, Larry Filley, coming from Wenatchee, Washington: joined us making a total of eight in the class. At the end of the first semester, the number in our class had dropped to six. Pat White and Pat Guerin had withdrawn. Class officers are as follows: President ..... ....... ...BobAdarns Vice-President . . . . . . . . Don Poulson Secretary-Treasurer . . . .... .... . . . ....
