SENIOR CLASS WILL We, the Seniors of 1949 do will and bequeath: To the Juniors- our ability to get out of class and make good grades. To the Sophomores- a few more boys. They helpfl To the Freshmen- our ability to keep out of trouble and get along with teachers. To the Eighth Grade- four happy and prosperous years in high school. To the Teachers- the relief of having us leave. To our Parents- the happy feeling that at last we've made it through. Individually We Bequeath The Following I, GENE MULKEY, do will and bequeath my motorcycle thrills and spills to Bob Adams. I, NORINE HINKLEY, do will and bequeath my slender figure and ability to get along with teachers to Jim Kenney. I, JUNIOR GRIM, do will and bequeath my job as Student Body Treasurer to anyone who will have it. I, HERBERT RAND, do will and bequeath my way with women and people in general to Fred Acock. I, NORMA KEITH, do will and bequeath my nickname of Iron-Sides to any one wanting to fill the bill. I, DONALD ADAMS, do will and bequeath my job of taking people places to anyone with a car. I, RICHARD SMITH, do will and bequeath my ability to be silent to Norman Simmons . I, ESTHER WARNER, do will and bequeath my ability to get A's to Bob Critchlow. I, ALFRED HOLDEN, do will and bequeath my smallness to some of the Sophomore girls, they need it!! I, DOLORES BROWNING, do will and bequeath my singing ability to James Keith. HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1949 Way back in 1937 we see seven tiny tots on their way to school. Yes, it's Dolores, Norine, and Esther. Look! here comes Herby, Junior, .Toe and Dean too. It's their first day at the Olde Irrigon Schoole. These seven did well and in 1941, .Tim Fraser of Juliaetta, Idaho and Gene Mulkey of Portland, Oregon, added some new life to our class. Coming from Arlington, Oregon in 1942, Don Adams decided he might as well get in this merry little group. Dick Smith was also watching the progress of the class and came from Hermiston to join us in 1943. From here they made it through Freshman initiation in 1945 and began High School life in earnest. That year, Alfred Holden joined the class, coming from Hermiston. Norma Keith carne to us from Rainier, Oregon in our Sophomore year and fitted right in with the old timers. Dianne Phaneuf joined us late in the first semester of our Senior year. She came from Sun Valley, California. So now leaving Irrigon High with all of its joys and heartaches is the class of 1949. 8
