HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1949 Way back in 1937 we see seven tiny tots on their way to school. Yes, it's Dolores, Norine, and Esther. Look! here comes Herby, Junior, .Toe and Dean too. It's their first day at the Olde Irrigon Schoole. These seven did well and in 1941, .Tim Fraser of Juliaetta, Idaho and Gene Mulkey of Portland, Oregon, added some new life to our class. Coming from Arlington, Oregon in 1942, Don Adams decided he might as well get in this merry little group. Dick Smith was also watching the progress of the class and came from Hermiston to join us in 1943. From here they made it through Freshman initiation in 1945 and began High School life in earnest. That year, Alfred Holden joined the class, coming from Hermiston. Norma Keith carne to us from Rainier, Oregon in our Sophomore year and fitted right in with the old timers. Dianne Phaneuf joined us late in the first semester of our Senior year. She came from Sun Valley, California. So now leaving Irrigon High with all of its joys and heartaches is the class of 1949. 8
