1) Senior athletes: Kathy Donovan. Tammy Beyer, and Stephanie Pierce display the tradi- tional ICS War paint. 2) Seniors bury the underclassmen in a blizzard of confetti. 3) Varsity cheerleaders perform their pom-pom routine. 4) Seniors anticipate the chance to show their spirit. Seniors take all As you walk down the halls of Iroquois, the faint chant of “let’s go ICS” can be heard. Approaching the auditorium, it grows stronger until you finally arrive at the gym, where the doors, chairs, and everything else not bolted down is rattling. The traditional cheer was the height of spirit at this year’s Pep Assembly. The bleachers having been repaired, students stomped their hearts out as each class showed it’s spirit. The cheer- leaders did a pom-pom routine to “Playing with the boys” by Kenny Loggins. The spirit award was won by the seniors as they threw a shower of confetti to bury the peo- ple below. The chant, “Seniors Rule’’ tow- ered over all the other classes. The Homecoming float attendants and Queen Laura Cholewinski were an- nounced, and the cheerleaders read off the senior athletes as each was painted in the traditional manner Kathy Donovan and Joe Kunick won the titles of Prince and Princess for displaying the best painted faces. When the assembly came to an end, stu- dents dispersed through the hallway’s with a renewed class spirit, and as they left, they took with them many new memories from Homecoming 1986. I

Homecoming week-the spirit of apparel Homecoming ’86 started off with a week full of unusual activities. Monday, the entire student body came to school dressed in sweatshirts and sunglasses. Tuesday was named ‘Beach Wear” as everyone was at- tired in Hawaiian shorts, shirts and lais. There was even a grass skirt or two. Wednesday was ‘Senior Day’ as the seniors took over the teaching posts and conducted classes for the day. Thursday, students came dressed in plaids, stripes, polka dots, camou- flage, and generally anything that looked terrible together for ‘clash or mismatch day’. Friday was the height of excitement. Every- one wore their traditional colors: Freshmen in green. Sophomores in yellow, Juniors in blue, and Seniors in red. It was a memorable week, and a great start for the events to come. 8 Opening Matt Row. Jim Newman. Joelle Vacanti. Al Romanchuk and Dan Whalen have fun showing off their beach wear.
