Pep Assembly This year's pep assembly was different from all others, there was to be no standing up, the bleachers had been ruled unsafe. It was said that the Spirit Award could not be given because the school's traditional chant, Let's go I.C.S. , was not to be performed because the students tend to get out of hand. This rule was laid down to the dismay and anger of the students, who were deter- mined to show their spirit anyway, by chant- ing while sitting down, without the stomping of feet. It wasn't the same as previous assem- blies we the students have come to know and love. It was much shorter, and the Sen- ior Poll was not announced. Hopefully, in years to come, things will change, and the freshmen of today will have the opportunity to show their school spirit without the re- straint shown this year. We the students just hope that the fall sports teams got the mes- sage of support we would have liked to have shown and the repairs needed to make the bleachers safe once again for stomping. The theme for Homecoming 1985 was Time After Time. With the unsettled con- tract, Homecoming this year was affected greatly, but everything possible was done to make it a night to remember. With disc jock- ey Gary Black from WNYS, everyone danced the night away; on tables, chairs, in the halls, and anywhere space for movement allowed. Couples arrived after dining at various res- taurants, meeting with friends and making party plans for later. The evening ran smoothly, as everyone pitched in to make it a great time for all.
