GOLF, BOWLING, RIFLE Marksmen Stage a Comeback With All-Underclassmen Team Loss of 4 starters from last year, 4 straight days without practice, and placement in a tough league hampered this year’s golf team . . . unable to scrape up a win in 9-game season . . . Doug Meyer clubbed low game: 54 strokes in 12 holes (6 under par). . . coached by Mr. Knowles: “Our best match was an 11-7 defeat against Williamsville South, who later went to win the league championship” . . . Kegelers added a win to last year’s record: 15 and 9 . . . 2nd in Division III to Gowanda . . . Rick Yacobush rolled high game (also league hi): 226, and high average, 168.1 . . . Brian Luders bowled high set at league roll- offs, 382 for two games . . . season was “ex- cellent, because it was supposed to be a rebuilding year, and it turned out to be my best season as a coach,” said Coach Emens . . . Rifle team revived this year by Coach Cronk . . . Gunmen, all underclassmen, finished winless, but vowed to return strong . . . “Freshmen and Sophomores will make up the whole team. TRACK Runners Unbeaten, Still Div III Champs Iroquois Trackies copped Division III Championship (again) in 4th straight season as Division champs; trackies compiled 9 wins, continued winning streak to 32 wins, longest in ECIC’s. Craig Caudill set school record in long jump: 20’8” . . . Craig’s earlier 21'5” leape was disqualified for poor approach . . . Greg Birtsch enjoyed undefeated season with the discus . . . outstanding meets: against JFK in the rain . . .
