“
To you, The school year passes quarter by quarter, month by month, not by groups. Every stu- dent plays an important part, and no one is more or less important than the next. This book, a series of events that you hold in your past, you now also hold in your hands. We hope that this yearbook has fulfilled your expectations of what a yearbook should be. We owe many thanks to our cooperative yearbook staff who came through when needed. Special thanks to Annette Da Lio, who was always there and did more than her share. We would also like to thank Mr. Grenda for his time and guidance. From us, • 2oJC 7 DEDICATION The students of Ironwood Catholic High would like to show their appreciation to a man who has spent endless hours giving advice, taking pictures, and retaking pictures. He is a man who has an under- standing of youth today. Therefore we would like to dedicate the 1980 yearbook to Mr. Ronald Surprenant, affectionately known to all the students as “Ronnie”. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it is beautiful.” CLASS COLORS: Red and Cream CLASS FLOWERS: Rambler Rose and Baby’s Breath CLASS SONG: WE MAY NEVER PASS THIS WAY AGAIN LIFE — so they say, Is but a game and they let it slip away. LOVE — like the Autumn sun Should be dying, but it’s only just begun. Like the twilight in the roaa up ahead They don’t see just where we’re goin’. And all the secrets in the universe Whisper in our ears and all the years will come and go And take us up, always up. We May Never Pass This Way Again. DREAMS — so they say, Are the fools and they let them drift away. PEACE — like the silent dove, Should be flyin’ but it’s only iust begun. Like Columbus in the olden days, We must gather all our courage, Sail our snips out on the open sea, Cast away our fears, and all the years will come and go And take us up — always up. We may never pass this way again. So I wanna laugh while the laughin’ is easy. I wanna cry if it makes it worthwhile. I may never pass this way again, That's why I want it with you. Cause you make me feel like I’m more than A Friend. Like I’m the journey and you’re the journey’s end. I may never pass this way again That:s why I want it with You (baby). As Recorded by Seals and Crofts 19 Steven Alessandroni Steve is a quiet and reserved guy who likes being in the outdoors, especially hunting. He also has an interest in music and is an accom- plished guitarist. Although Steve is undecided in his future, we wish him the best of luck in all that he does. After high school, Annette plans to go on to college. 21 Kathy Danielson Kathy is the type of person who enjoys people, and being around them. If she isn’t working, you’d probably find her getting together with a lot of people and having a good time. Kathy enjoys going out a lot, whether it’s going out to the lake, or just getting together with a bunch of people and having a good time. Because of her smile and dynamic personality, she is very easy to get along with, and a lot of fun. After graduation, she plans to move away somewhere and find a job. Barry Scott Dowd Barry is the type of guy who excels in all he does. He is an all around athlete who enjoys basket- ball, baseball, football, bowling and climbing trees. Because of his interests in sports, you would more than likely find him at his favorite hang-out, the ICHS Gym. He also enjoys carpentry. In fact, after graduation, he hopes to make this his career. His goal in life is to sign with the Detroit Tigers. Favorite Songs: Theme to Pink Panther, and Black Betty. 22 Janet Fabbri Janet enjoys being in the out- doors and having a good time, which is reflected by her favorite pastime — camping, at her favor- ite hang-out, Lake Superior. She has been active in various organizations, particularly CAC, in which she has held the offices of secretary (junior yr.) and vice pres- ident (senior yr.) Janet also has an interest in writing, and plans to attend GCC, pursuing a career in journalism. When he is not telling some story, he likes to spend his time in the outdoors where you could find him hunting, deep sea fishing, water skiing, snowmobiling or motorcycling. He also likes to play basket- ball, and enjoys running, in which he has participated and excelled competitively during high school. After graduation, Dave is think- ing about becoming a baker or entering the Air Force. 28 Michelle Lukas Michelle is a quiet, demure type of girl, who doesn’t really like to get involved. But her quietness has not hindered her sports-minded- ness. She is truly the adventurer, as far as sports go. She feels that her greatest accomplishment has been maintaining her sanity after 5 days of constant smiling at Cheerleading camp-Eau Claire- summer of ’78. If she is not out running in Ironwood or Hurley, you could find Michelle listening to her multitude of albums. Her favorite song is “Yesterday,” by the Beatles. Madeline Josephine Menara Madeline is the type of person who is concerned about everyone around her and tries to make peo- ple smile. She always seems to be busy somewhere, helping those who need help or those who just need someone to talk to. She feels that her greatest accomplishment was to make somebody feel needed.
