An outstanding man in the field of educa- tion, Dr. F. Bringle Mclntosh, President of Ohio Northern University, delivered the Commencement address to the Class of 1960 at Ironton Senior High School. THE MOST POWERFUL THING IN THE WORLD was the subject. His delivery, experience in many fields, vast background of knowl- edge, all combined to make a lasting impres- sion onthe class. if Dr, F. Bringle Mclntosh, D.D., LL.D. A diploma at last! Seniors stand with eyes fixed on the future. COMMENCEMENT The ninety-second annual Commencement of Ironton High School was held Friday, June 3, 1960, in the Senior High School Auditorium. The pro- gram began with the processional by the class of 1960 followed by the Board of Education and the Administration. After singi-ng The Star Spangled Banner, the audience remained standing for the invocation by the Reverend Roy Mozena. The Mixed Chorus III presented two selections: l'Il Walk With God, Brodsky, followed by The Lord's Prayer, Malotte. Mr. L. G. DeLong, Superintendent of Ironton City Schools, introduced the guest speaker, Dr. F. Bringle Mclntosh, President of Ohio Northern University, who chose as the topic of his address, The Most Powerful Thing In The World. Following the address, an organ solo, Benedictus, by Rowley, was played by Janice Collins. The following presentations were made: The Citizenship Award, a memorial from the Class of 1925, The Robert E. Christian Memorial, class of 1945, and the Girls' Athletic Association Award. Mrs. Enoch Allen, President of the Ironton City Board of Education, presented the diplomas. The service was closed with the benediction by Reverend Roger R. Eells and the recessional by the Class of 1960.
