Before school ends, Summer begins, and Summer usually means one thing to us; CRANE’S BEACH! We all flock there to soak up the sun and socialize with our friends because the beach seems to be the only cure for our sudden “illnesses”. Then finally freedom: the end of exams. We are able to join those in pursuit of the perfect tan without the burden of asking Kirsti to sign our notes. We may think our terms have ended, but the freedom is short- lived; soon we report to our Summer jobs. The lucky few are fortunate enough to work at the beach “it’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it”. Some other establishments which thicken our wallets are Harvest Market, Cape Ann, The Parrish House, The Hellenic Center, Hill’s, Oscar’s, The D.Q., Chipper’s, Richdale’s, The Clam Box and so on. Though our jobs are many, we manage to find time for the pleasures of life: July 4th at the Castle, Polish Picnic, Greek Picnic, even Olde Ipswich Days, but the question always arises at 5 on Friday, “Where’s the Party?” And so goes the warm season for us in Ipswich. 5
