This organization has for years represented our school well, this year being no exception. The marching band won first at the TIL Meet in November. They add a spicy touch to the marching band with twirling, strutting, and special features. ALL-REGION BAND MEMBERS These six band members were chosen competitively from numerous members of bands from this area as All-Region players. They are: Glenna Archer, Sue Bedford, Nancy Smith, Ruth Estes, Mary Shook, and Karen Watson. Three of the six went to area tryouts for All-State Band. Mary Shook, Sue Bedford, and Karen Watson. Head cheerleader, Gayla Lynn, Senior. SECOND ROW: Jolyn Fox, Senior; Peggy Toler, Freshman; Peggy Underwood, Junior. BOTTOM ROW: Kathy Teal, Sophomore; and Billie Barnes, Junior. Senior Chapter Conducting composed of Jimmy Davis, Jackie Brooks, John Williamson, Herman Beavers, Junior Jenkins, Lanny Starr, and Richard Underwood placed fourth in district. Livestock Judging won fourth in Wichita District by Rodney Dalton, Richard Underwood, and Jimmy Davis. Dairy Products Team won seventh in area and twenty-seventh in state by Ralph Klinkerman, Buddy Trantham, and A. W. Winningham. STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is a new organization in our school this year. The purpose is to en- courage co-operation of students and faculty, raise standards of personal conduct, activities, and citizenship. Both A and B teams did well. The A team won 6 out of 10 games. The school is always proud of our football teams.
