PSYCHIATRIC NURSIN For three months of our senior year, we had the priv- ilege of leaving the city, and moving to Knoxville for our psych experience. In addition to classroom work, we had process studies and ward work. We also could participate in dances, outdoor activities, movies, pool, etc. Thru visits with the associated team members, such as the social worker, psychologist, chaplains, etc, we were able to gain a better understanding of how mental illness affected our patients and their families. SURGERY Our surgery rotation involves experience in the oper- ating rooms, ICU-CCU, emergency room, recovery room, and various med-surg floors. We also make doctor's rounds and have continuing classroom work. In CCU, Cheri watches for PVC's .
