Twelve years of formal education lie behind you, and before you, opportuni- ties unlimited. At times in the past you became impatient with' the three R's, to say nothing of history, English, and biology. Some of you were eager to show the rest of us what you could do to help make the world a better place in which to live. ' And now the time has come! Those school days were days of preparation for what now lies ahead. Commencement Day, says Oliver Wendell Holmes, is the start- ing point in the race of life. It matters not so much which garb you choose to run in - overalls, housedress, nurse's uniform, or white collar - but it does matter how you run. Holmes says the important thing in this race is that you run as Weis- fyoul know how. May we add to that the words of the Apostle Paul, --run with patience the race that is set before fyoul, looking unto Jesus--. Run well, then, with your eyes fixed steadily on Christ, the goal. And then you should be able to say, at the finishing point in this race, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
