Eight f TQPCLVQ IQ? O1fVLO'lf l O'lfU Q3 Cly Today the affairs of the' world are unsettled. Some men are fighting for peace and freedom while others are fighting selfishly to gain some- thing materially for themselves. Our country is carefully guarding against Communism and is trying to preserve freedom. The threat of the atomic bomb has caused the people of the world new concern. The future of our country andthe whole world is uncertain: no one knows what it will bring. It may bring peace and prosperity or it may bring war and adversity. Whatever the future brings, we must be prepared to meet it if we expect our lives to be successful. The first way we can prepare to meet the future is to decide what work we want to do and prepare for it. Our church high schools and colleges are among the best places to prepare for a vocation. This can be done by taking a vocational course or by reading books on the work-in which you are interested. There are many things that can be learned only through experience which will probably help much more than all the studying you can do. In school, we can get much valuable experience and learn many practical lessons of life. When we prepare for a vocation, our chief aim should not be to make money, but rather preparing for service - service to God and man. Wfhether God wants us to be a missionary, minister, teacher, or a farmer, we can get helpful experience andtraining here at I. M. S. God has a place of service for each of us if we are willing to do what He wants us to do. We can also be of service to the world. Doing relief work in war- torn countries or places where there are famines or floods is one way we can help the people of the world. Or perhaps by just living good Christian lives - living peaceably with our neighbors and forgetting about ourselves and thinking of others first we can be of great service to our community and to our God. But if we do live lives that are beneficial to the world and don't enjoy ourselves, life isn!t worth living. One of the best ways we can prepare to enjoy our later life isato make friends when we are young. Friends help keep your spirits up when you are in trouble and help to make life more enjoyable. The best friend you can find is Jesus, who will always be true, even in time of trouble: and nowhere will you find a friend more faithful. Here in a church school we have opportunity to accept Jesus and dedicate our lives fully to Him. If we have found Jesus as our Savior, certainly we are well prepared to meet the future. Therefore, we can live enjoyable lives and be of ser- vice to the world. mage gwaztzendwgzz .f,Ssnio'c 676114 fpuaicfznt
